Introducing Active Citizenship

Do you want to get involved in your local community or are you already involved?

Do you want to help make a difference?

Do you want to share your views and concerns with others and look at ways to make things better?

This awareness session from the WEA (Workers’ Educational Association) is for you. They will look at what is meant by “Active Citizenship” and how they can all make a difference, however small, to our community. We all want to live in a better society.

Women Leading for a Change is coming to an end. It is a project which Bright Ideas have been delivering since October in association with CEFET, WEA, Adult and Community Learning Fund and Broadway, this project had been funded by the skills Funding Agency.

It was made up of 5 units and 5 inspirational events, with additional events and meetings for the Women Leading Learning, a committee of woman (Click here for more information about this committee and how you can get involved)

On Thursday 8^th March 2012 celebrates the end of this course with the ‘Women Leading for a Change Screening’; it is part of international women’s day. A film will be shown which was recorded at every inspirational event, which captures the empowering speakers, produced by the Broadway. The programme of the morning will also include, Panel and Audience Discussion, Snapshots of Women Leaders, Drama Queens – a improvisation by some on the women that were on the course, Presentation’s by Mary Moss, Resource Development, WEA and Clare Caves, External Evaluator, CEFET about the future of ‘Women Leading or a Change’.

Every woman is invited, even if you haven’t been involved with this course, as this is your chance to be involved! The event is at the Broadway Cinema, 14-18, Broad Street, NG1 3AL, Nottingham, at 10am – 12.30pm, then lunch and networking from 12.30pm – 2.00pm.
