Part of the project, I Believe I Can Fly, was a report into the Nottingham Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia Service achievements from 1988 till 2010.
The report analyses the services past achievements including the Universal Newborn Screening Programme which was set up in 2004, the support Group, a Drop in clinic which was induced in 2009 and the service expansion to cover Thalassaemia.
It has been a privilege for Bright Ideas to be involved in this history project to summarise the quite breathtaking and life-changing achievements of the Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia Service since its inception in 1988. Bright Ideas would like to thank all those who took part in the interviews and who provided information for this history project.
