BME Cancer Community in association with Bright Ideas, Mon0lisa Productions, 97.5 Kemet FM, the Hearts and Minds Programme and The British Heart Foundation organised a session for the African Caribbean community to train 100 people in vital life saving first aid skills, including:
- Assessing an unconscious patient
- Helping someone that may be having a heart attack
- Performing Resuscitation (CPR)
- Dealing with choking and bleeding
The event took place because African Caribbean people are at much higher risk of developing heart disease, stroke and diabetes.
You never know when you might need to be a life saver!
