True Colours was a vibrant partnership project between the Workers Educational Association East Midlands, Bright Ideas Nottingham, Making Waves and BME Cancer Communities. It was part of a national pilot programme which aimed to measure the impact of adult learning on mental health and wellbeing. The project co-produced a programme of of short courses on a variety of topics that aimed to improve the mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing of those who attended. Working with local people, we designed and delivered a series of short courses and workshops targeted at people experiencing issues such as anxiety, mild depression, stress and problems sleeping. Evaluation and assessment provided evidence of a marked improvement in participants’ mental health and well-being.
