Bright Ideas has been working on behalf of the East Midlands Take Part Champions, University of Lincoln and WEA East Midlands by engaging with groups across the East Midlands.
Please find the Take Part reports below:
Thursday 18th November saw Bright Ideas host a screening of short films made by the production team at Broadway about voluntary and community groups from the East Midlands (but outside of the city). We were privileged to have a welcome from the Lord Mayor of Nottingham and short talks from Mel Lenehan of the WEA and Julie Cassidy Gosling from Advocacy in Action. It was great to be able to welcome groups from near and far to our city and to celebrate their achievements and spend some time thinking about how much can be achieved to improve our communities.

The work has involved:
– Interviewing groups across the East Midlands to find out about their work in active citizenship and civic involvement.
– Developing learning resources for groups to use.
– Working with the Broadway Cinema in Nottingham to support the production of short films about 11 groups and a film about the Take Part approach.
– External evaluations/reviews for a number of groups.
– Sharing practice at the national Take Part Conference.
– Working with a number of groups to plan and deliver their own Take Part conference or event.
Bright Ideas is also planning an event for volunteers working in East Midlands Libraries which will take place on Monday 21st March 2011 at Nottingham Central Library.
