Future Pulse is a 3 year partnership between Bright Ideas Nottingham and the Carers’ Federation. Future Pulse seeks to improve access to health & well being services for children and young people under 25 in Nottingham.
Future Pulse is currently in its second year and begun with the first official launch event which took place on September 2014 for professional organisations. Following on with 3 other launch events for a range of age groups (The results of the events were then used to help shape the project from the very beginning).
In September the project launched with our ‘Design a Project’ event where the young people got creative with expressing their opinions, and views. The young people also developed the name for the project ‘Future Pulse’ and designed the logo with the help of a professional media designer. This now will feed into a final piece of artwork, which can be anything from a short film, music video/cd, local play, art exhibition, sculpture, workshop etc. It will be completely young people led.
The second launch was our Feel Good Nottingham workshop at 97.5 kemet FM were young people created adverts to promote the project its self.
Our final launch event was Patty Dumplin and the Wellbeing’s for children aged 5-11 at the Central Library in Nottingham City centre. Children and young people had a’lot of fun creating Health and ‘Wellbeing’ Characters whilst telling us their experiences of health services I.E doctors dentist. This information is now being used to create a children’s book.
The training part of the project will be accredited so it can also be added to cvs and cover letters.
