BME Cancer Communities Event – 12th July 2011

BME Cancer Communities presents Too Quiet! Too Long! Event. This will be supported by Bright Ideas Nottingham and the African Caribbean Health Network. It is part of the ethnic minority cancer awareness week. This event will be on the 12th July 2011 at 10am till 3pm at the Nottingham voluntary Action Centre. This event is to raise awareness about cancers affecting our communities.

This event is being run by The African Caribbean & Asian Forum Nottingham, Nottingham Equal and Bright Ideas Nottingham in partnership with East Midlands Strategic Health Authority and NHS Nottingham City. The event is supported by The African and Caribbean Health Network, Awaaz, ARRIVAL, Indian Community Association, PATRA incorporating ACDA and BME Cancer Communities.

Emergency Appointment

Emergency Appointment is an event that will look at BME health needs, GP Consortia and public sector commissioning. It will be chaired by Dr Chris Packham, GP and Director of Public Health, and hosted in Nottingham by Andrew Campbell, BME representative for the Local Strategic Partnership.  There will be GP’s and guest speakers from the Strategic Health Authority including Maqsood Ahmad OBE, Director of Inclusion and Rosemary Stuckey, Assistant Director of Commissioning Development.

2pm – 5pm Thursday 14th April 2011,
The Indian Community Centre, Mansfield Road.
