Join Nottingham’s new hilarious celebrity chef, Patty Dumplin’ and The Love Hearts for a dining experience that you will never forget. We will be cooking up recipes from the British Heart Foundation’s Caribbean recipe book, showing you how it’s done and then sitting down with you to dine in style.
These sessions are aimed at people who cook African-Caribbean food on a regular basis and would like to learn how they can enjoy their favourite foods in a healthier way. We will be filming each evening and we’ll be making short films for You Tube etc. so that we can spread the message and the fun further.
Places for this are extremely limited so we can’t promise everyone a place. However, do encourage friends and family to listen to 97.5 kemet fm where you can win free tickets every week.
Come Nyam Wid Me evenings are FREE. However, you can make a voluntary donation to the British Heart Foundation if you wish.

Community Training Opportunities
We are searching for 100 people who live and work closely in the African-Caribbean community to become potential life savers. We want to train 100 people on the same day in emergency life support.
We are also running other sessions such as Pass It On sessions and heart awareness sessions in the community.

Be A Love Heart
We have couple of vacancies for Love Hearts. Potential applicants must be available for day-time volunteering. (We have enough volunteers who are available for evening and weekend work.)

The Clifton Love Hearts
Some local people in Clifton loved what we were doing so much that they have set up their own volunteer team: The Clifton Love Hearts. The Clifton Love hearts will be fundraising for the British Heart Foundation and raising awareness about heart health with local people. They will soon have their own section on the project blog www.TheLoveHearts.wordpress.com If you know anyone who wants to fundraise for The British Heart Foundation, please encourage them to get in touch with us.
Hearts and Minds
Reggaerobics and Come Nyam Wid Me are part of the Hearts and Minds programme. Hearts and Minds is a programme of activity aimed to raise awareness of the British Heart Foundation in Nottingham’s diverse communities. You can find out how the British Heart Foundation works with all sections of the community by going to www.bhf.org.uk
This year (2012 – 2013) the programme in Nottingham focuses on African-Caribbean communities and we are currently planning our programme aimed at South Asian communities for 2013-14.
The programme is being developed as a model of good practice that can be shared by the BHF across the UK.
So far the partners have:
Recruited a small team of volunteers called ‘The Love Hearts’ who advise us and assist the project partners
Held the Hearts and Minds community conference for the second year which was broadcast live on 97.5 kemet fm
Represented the BHF at a number of community events including Notts Carnival and Pride
Distributed thousands of BHF resources in community engagement settings
Visited and engaged Caribbean businesses and services to support them to access resources for their customers
Scripted 5 radio adverts about different aspects of heart health.
Organised training sessions in the community
Started up FREE Reggaerobics classes
Planned 4 x Come Nyam (eat) Wid Me dining experiences.
